lately in the studio

I've shown you a couple of pictures from Malin's studio before. It is a great place where new costumes and clothes are being created. Chaos reigns but sometimes I think it's what we need to function.
The process of creating something new might be the main reason I am in this random industry of creativity, chaos and uncertainty :) To see/feel/touch something which you could only see in your mind is instant gratification.
Lately I've been making a few samples for a circus themed kids clothing line. It is one of the cutest projects I've ever been involved with and making these little clothes is a lot of fun. The fabrics and textures, colours and prints. Wish we all dressed in more colours the range has to offer. Looking at people in the street can seem so boring at times.

Here are a few (blurry) snapshots from a collection in progress...

Somehow I wish I could make a pair of those Harem pants for myself. It doesn't go with my dress/skirt challenge this year but I imagine them to be super comfortable!

it's been a while...

Today my brother asked me if this blog thing is dying since I haven't written for days and the last month basically consisted of copying my instagram feed in a weekly post.
Oh how times have changed. I'm still alive and kicking it. Just underground these days. Literally underground, our dungeon at the theatre is 3 stories below street level and I'm happy to see the sun on my way to work. I've said this before but Snowmanland is a black hole that swallows you up and spits you out two months later. A happy hole, all is good.
Between working and having people come to stay and getting prepared for Christmas and cooking food to bring to work (hello candida diet I'm so happy you're in my life again, NOT! more on that later) there was no time left to sit down and write. I miss it a lot and I miss venturing out, camera in hand. That hasn't happened either which is strange. Hence all the crappy phone photos you've been seeing on here.
I've been thinking heaps about what's to come and resolutions for the new year. There is loads to come, just be patient - Ulrich I am talking to you haha.
Happy midweek. Hope everyone is having a relaxed Advent season.
To be continued, Astrid x

phone photo round up

I seriously heart Abel & Cole, they send me freebies every week!
a little bit of paradise - trimmings store near Oxford street.

It's been a great week. We worked hard at ZB HQ, as you can see in the last picture. But there was lots of play time as well. Plus I got to meet up with my friend Sarah who I haven't seen in about three years. For the story on how I lived with her family for three months, you can go back to the very start of this blog :)
Happy weekending everyone x

one last time on the roof

Before we headed home we finished the summer off with a little party on the roof.
There were a few bottles of wine left over and M decided that she didn't want to have any excess baggage on her way home and we better empty them :)
Fall was upon us, so we bundled up and braved the cold. It was a night filled with many stories, lots of laughter, a very bright moon, some of the best people I've ever had the pleasure of working with,  a few bottles of wine, tea lights in paper cups and making sure that we all come back again next summer.

Thanks lovely people, it was epic xx

a pasta party

Did I mention that I had an amazing summer?
Going over all the photos I'm laughing and smiling remembering the things we did and all the lovely people who were part of it!
After a lot of hang outs after work, we decided to have a pasta party. It felt like camping as we all brought plates and other things. The joys of the nomad life :)
C cooked amazing food (how good is a simple pasta!) and it was a great group of people sharing a meal. We ended up on the roof to chat until the wee hours. No surprise there.
Why the roof? Because the view is amazing and you can be as loud as you want haha. Fun times.

work and play

Weird to think that two months ago I knew only a handful of them and all of a sudden it feels like we all went so summer camp and work hard and play when the lights go out :)
So many beautiful people inside and out! Love them.
