a weekend at Casa Schnorres

As soon as I landed in Salzburg, I found out that my friends were all going away for the weekend haha. (That's what you get for trying hard to get in touch and plan ahead but no-one answers their phone!)
It was a quick decision to get on board and make the 5 hour drive to a tiny place near Karlsruhe.
First off another 30th birthday to celebrate - it is the year of plenty, happy birthday Tommy!
The next two days were spent hanging at Casa Schnorres... still impressed with their kayak storage solution haha
Special mention goes out to Simon for not giving up on the way there! It is a 2.5hours drive from his place and as we hardly ever see him these days I told him to come up. Poor guy was stuck in traffic and it took him 6!!! hours to get to us (we received the funniest pics of the traffic jam, his camping chair next to the car on the Autobahn, etc haha). I hope the barbecue and company made up for it.
That's what's summer is all about: amazing friends, time to hang, a garden to lounge in, chicken to gush about :), good food and celebrating life!

Grein visit

Last weekend three girls piled into a car in Vienna and went to see their friend, who moved to a village next to the Danube river when she got married last year  :)
I hadn't seen Margit since her wedding last June and thought that it's about time that I get to see her. So on a very sunny day, accompanied by Karin and Tini, we made our way to Grein.
What followed was lots of good food, walks around town and along the Danube river, a concert, having drinks with the band afterwards, a tour of the theatre and much more but most of all catching up with everyone!
couldn't get enough of the river!!!!
this boat, a traditional Zille, was supposed to get back into the water after a long winter but something needed to be fixed... might have to go back for a little cruise
Greinburg - a bit of a mix between castle and palace
these boots were definitely not made for walking in such terrain :)
if you look close enough you can see snowcapped mountains in the back
Trio Lepschi
Margit and Lothar on the opposite side as we sat in the box!
Until the 18th century theatres used to be exclusively for royalty, at or close to court. This theatre is the oldest citizen theatre in the German-speaking world, founded in 1791 and is really worth a visit.

Always good to see and catch up with friends, I had a great time and will definitely be back. Maybe one day I'll cycle there. Apparently Grein is the exact middle between Passau and Vienna, therefore a lot of bikers who cycle the Danube path, in either direction, stop there for a visit.
Hope everyone starts into an amazing weekend x

London fog

Last weekend it got so foggy I just had to go out to the common and explore. An hour later my hair was soaking wet and I was lost somewhere  when I took a wrong turn haha
Just looked through the photos - while a Prince documentary is on in the background, good grieve he was amazing!!! - and here are my favourites:
nothing ever stops England boys from playing football... I could hardly see anyone but gosh can they shout haha
So glad this is next door, here's to a lot more runs in Wimbledon common and staying fit in the winter. Happy weekend everyone, hope you get to spend it with your favourite people x

Schnorres weekend pt 4 the girl edition

While the boys battled it out, we finally did what we've been saying for about a year:
we swapped clothing!
Lisl sent us all a long list of criteria we were to fulfill (haven't worn it in a year, don't feel comfortable wearing it, my partner doesn't like it, etc) and we spent all summer clearing out our closets. I do this on a regular basis as I move around so much, but if you've never done that, please try it. It will not only make some space in your wardrobe but also free yourself, definitely feels good to give stuff away and not to hold on to possessions.
we started off with delicious chicken chowder
 Sophie creating a fab playlist
wherever Ruth is, there's dessert :)
let the fun begin: jewellery and hair accessories
can you imagine 9 girls trying on clothes haha the mirror was def too small

Everyone found at least a couple pieces with Lisl getting a whole new collection as she bagged everything that got too tight or short for us :) You might call this whole adventure guilt free shopping haha
The next day we all slept in and spent hours going through wedding pics from Ruth & Ian's big day.
Later the boys returned, smelling smokey (kinda like a bonfire) and we all looked through photos from the Schnorres games :) Happy days, gang. Always a pleasure to hang with you xx

Vienna weekend roundup

Going home is always filled with squeezing as much as possible in and than only doing half of it because the weather wont permit anything else.
My lovely friend Margit is getting married in a month, so all the girls got together for her hen night. The original plan of hiking up to a hut and staying here for a night, fell through so we went up to Moedling and had a night of catching up, celebrating the bride and lots of fun things!
you can look over the entire city - Vienna that is
It felt a lot like a high school reunion, strange to think I've known most of them for up to 15 years and missed the last six of those :) Good thing that we will have the wedding in four weeks time and it will be fantastic.

We had a fun skype date with my favourite Zekester and his parents :)
Sadly the young designer's market wasn't happening as it was rained out :( but Judith and I braved the rain to watch my brother play football in the afternoon. Very thankful for wellies and umbrellas!!
My brother's friend Flo brought his three little boys along - it was their first time at a game and as it turned out the next day young boys are really impressed by how my brother runs sideways and backwards ahahahaha
I lasted until half time and went over to the lovely Fischers to finally meet Miss Evie:
Isn't she beautiful!!! Got lots of baby cuddles and a delicious meal... So good to see them.
Time is always on the tight side but thankfully they're all not too far off.
