As someone who loves the water this little canal has become a great friend over the last three summers in Salzburg. It is really old and I have written a bit about its history here.
This year we had a bit of time on our hands compared to last year's madness at the festival, so we rode our bikes there a couple of times, to hang out, jump in and surf (more on that later).
The scenery is ridiculous and the water is the best thing that can happen to you on a hot, hot day. There were plenty this summer! The first time you go in it literally takes your breath away.
