current obsession

Ellie Goulding
We listen to a lot of music at Zoe Boomer HQ, or watch a lot of music videos and this Ellie Goulding song has been on repeat as it features in every chart show there is right now :)

Matt Corby
we've been revisiting his EP a lot this week and this is still one of my favourites. Such a talented guy!

soup
It's that time of the year again. Nights are getting so cold and leaves are falling. If you've been reading this blog for a while, you know that I love fall. The burst of colour and the sky is this certain shade of blue.
Soup is falls companion if you ask me, it fills your belly and warms you. Make it spicy and it will have you boiling in a flash :) Still have to make my first annual batch of pumpkin soup though.

Hope everyone's week is going great. NYC peeps you're still in my thoughts and prayers, so glad I got hold of my forever housemate to find out that everyone is alright.

a walk along the South Bank

Right, I can't believe how fast time is travelling...
When Simon came to visit we went on a little South Bank walk and hit up Tate Modern and Borough Market. 2 favourites around these parts :)

We had every London experience you could ask for. From buskers singing songs about the Thames river to modern art at the gallery, screenings of bizarre videos in the newly opened "the tanks", watching a little kid grab every cushion possible and building a sofa to rest at the museum to tasting a lot of things at the markets(two stand out: oysters for Simon - so gross, salt beef sandwich - uh-mah-zing), browsing the book store for hours and getting caught out in the rain.
As often as I walk there and go to Tate Modern, it will never be "normal" to me. Taking it all in for the hundredth time and still feeling privileged to spend so much of my time in this city.

current obsession

new video by the lovely Giantree. For more info on them looky look here :)

silk and chiffon bracelets
I've been back in the studio with Zoe Boomer to work on a range of cute little accessories. Feel transported back to a couple of years ago when I went back into fashion on her account. It was the beginning of a new season in my life. Turned my back on everything that was and a journey through fashion and costumes started. Wouldn't change that decision for the world :)

an ode to best friends

"friendship is when people know all about you and love you anyway"
Super thankful for my besties these days...
they make me feel secure, understood and loved but they also push me to go beyond my comfort zone, tell me off when I'm making terrible decisions, they can be so honest that you have trouble sleeping but sometimes it is necessary to hear that. Even though we can all bitch and hurt each other, no one's too big to say sorry. Wherever there are people there needs to be grace and forgiveness - if that's not the case beware :)
You laugh with them until it hurts and you can't breathe and life is a whole lot better when they are around!
This week is one of massive celebration in our little world. Miss E you are so loved already and one day you will be surrounded by amazing people just like me.
Beyond grateful for R, L & S, love them to pieces.

comedy queen, love her writing... if you want to be stared at for laughing out loud/ having the giggles while reading on the bus or tube, get a copy.

Milk bottle carriers on the porch

first veggie box to arrive and I got a free cook book - check out Abel&Cole, loved their service 3 years ago and they're even better now. Whoever came up with the wool insulation boxes is a genius!
lots of walking or running in the common

hat number 1 out of 3 :)
Happy Sunday night everyone x

Anti-Slavery Day

It is a tragedy of enormous proportions and to think that there is just one person who doesn't have the privilege to live in freedom, makes me sad beyond words. Maybe because I have never felt like I've been limited and even more because I believe that life is worth living and value should be placed on every single person this planet holds.
Today we read that more and more humans are trafficked into the UK but believe me this is just a small part of the whole story. It can seem so overwhelming but it's never too late and I'm so glad that there are multiple organisations out there who fight to free victims.
Let's be conscious of these things and pray for those held captive and support the people fighting on the front lines!

the V&A - my happy place

...at least one of them!
It is one of those places you go to every chance you get because number one there is so much to see (you could spend days in there) and number two it will inspire you to be more creative and look at the world differently.
When Simon came to visit it was the first stop on the tourist agenda and we went in, left for lunch and went back again! haha Anyway not only do they have a lot on exhibition but the building itself is ridiculously pretty too.

More pics tomorrow.
