thankfulness

Three years ago (when this whole blog thing started!!) I got to celebrate my very first Thanksgiving with the lovely P family.
It's a celebration of giving thanks and I reckon we can all do with a little more thankfulness in our lives. Doesn't matter the circumstances, there's always something you can give thanks for, and even if it's being alive.

Here's a random list of things I'm thankful for right now:

  • Jesus. He was and is and is to come. King, Saviour, solid rock
  • family. most insane bunch of freaks and I love them from the bottom of my heart ha!
  • besties - oh so crazy and beautiful inside and out
  • Snowmanland, so grateful for my job and friends I get to work with!
  • that my housemates arrived home safe and sound after their travels
  • church and the power that lies in collective worship and going after God
  • fresh air. nothing like coming out of our dungeon and opening stage door haha
  • the view I get to see when walking out of the theatre
  • Manuka honey.
  • that this tough season will have an end some time. healing is on its way.
  • the little gifts I get sent with every veggie box. Abel & Cole you rock
  • one last early night before everything goes mental for the next 6 weeks. Hooray!

There is so much else I could list but I'll keep it at that.
I'm surrounded by wonderful people, hope you all are too xx

something for your weekend

It's been a week of mixed emotions.
Being the good friend that he is, Simon told me to watch two TED talks as I have been struggling to walk out the door the last week.
Enjoy :)

favourite Bs on their allotment

Don't let these pictures fool you, this all happened in late September. Just getting around to posting them now :)
I took my bike out for one last ride over to see some of my favourite people before leaving the country once again.
After a lovely afternoon together, we all went to their allotment for one last harvest. For a quick look on what it looked like in July, click here. Can't believe how much they got out of that little patch all summer. Nature is pretty cool.

The taste of these veggies is beyond comparison. Nothing store bought will ever taste like it. The baby tomatoes are like eating candy off a vine. Seriously. Plus you have fun playing in the dirt and harvesting food and somehow you feel more at peace there than wandering around the city, ha.
Look at these sunflowers!!! It was a fight to get the heads down haha 3 heads were laid out on my parents balcony and the birds were feasting on the seeds for a couple weeks :)

hats hats hats

One day I'm gonna have a studio with all these fun things in it to make lots and lots of hats :)

reality check

I found this written on the side of the river a couple of weeks ago and it fits the last few weeks perfectly.
There are so many great things happening around me and I'm thankful for so much in my life, but inside it's been horrible and tough. Emotional to say the least... I feel like I've burnt bridges and struggle with too many things going on in my life. To top it all off a very close friend is hurting and I'm a thousand miles away. Blaaaahhh  I've spent the last two days in bed due to feeling under the weather. Wish I could cry it all out, it would be so good.
One of the downsides of the nomad life is that others will do the same and move around just as much. London is the best place to do that. I've lived over here for quite some time and now that I keep coming back, most of my friends and especially the ones who I was closest with have moved away. I'm thankful for modern technology - emails, whatsapp and whatever else out there. It's not the same as sitting on the sofa with your besties and crying it all out but it helps.
So what do you do in seasons like this one. You cling to God and remind Him and mostly yourself of all the things He is able to do, that He has a plan for you, that His timing is perfect and that He loves you more than anything :) Never, never, never give up!
Hope you're weekend is great xx

phone photo round up

I seriously heart Abel & Cole, they send me freebies every week!
a little bit of paradise - trimmings store near Oxford street.

It's been a great week. We worked hard at ZB HQ, as you can see in the last picture. But there was lots of play time as well. Plus I got to meet up with my friend Sarah who I haven't seen in about three years. For the story on how I lived with her family for three months, you can go back to the very start of this blog :)
Happy weekending everyone x

one song dance parties

For some unknown reason kids love me haha
Having two little housemates is one of the most fun things in life. They are really excited as soon as I enter the house - this will wear off I'm sure and someone else will be the new and exciting person.
One of the funniest things is when Miss E comes up to my room. Sh knows she has to knock and ask to come in, but when the door is open, she will come in and shut the door, so she can knock. Makes me laugh every single time. So cute!
Turns out there are two things these kiddos love: photo booth and dancing around my room.
We've started a new tradition - one song dance party - I put one song on and during that one song we dance our little hearts out. I'm happy to say that all three of us are perfecting our silly dance moves!
As for the photo booth...

Love those munchkins.
