as promised - Zoe Boomer stunt

Finally it's up and I absolutely love it!
What beautiful photography and the fact that it's in black and white sends me over the moon :)

Well done everyone!!!

sick day

I've had a horrible cold the last couple days and decided to spend this weekend in bed. Dreadful as it's been lovely outside, at least today. I can smell our neighbours having a barbecue, the sun is shining and just a slight breeze going. Kind of perfect for a Sunday.
As I get bored just staying in bed - at the end of the day there is only that much TV you can watch and books you can read - I always resort to cooking.
On todays menu...
some sort of quiche with all the veggies I could find in the kitchen
and with the leftover pastry I made some sort of mini almond-cinnamon rolls.

Delicious, quick and oh so easy! Everyone should cook rather than get take out or worse ready made supermarket stuff. Know what goes into your body and you'll feel a hundred times better!!

the days are numbered

I've got just over five weeks left on the great British isle. Kind of a shock that it'll come up so soon but on the other hand so pumped to move to Salzburg! Yay!!

look what my friends are up to

Think I've raved before about the talent that is called Zoe Boomer.
To get some press attention she dressed nine models in her new collection, got five boys to pose as security and we stormed Leicester Square. Three more boys were taking photos and videoing the whole thing. It was crazy and I can't believe how well everyone was working together.
As soon as the video is online, I'll post it here. Until than here are some pics from yesterday:
Thanks for playing everyone, Zoe I'm so proud of you!!!!

sun sun sun in London town

It has been absolute brilliant weather here.
There are things I really like about my job. On Sunday we got payed to be at the Primrose Hill May Fete. We stood in the sun, handing out flyers had the best coffee frappes from this cute little french place and got to listen to live music. To top it all off they had a May Queen - this tiny old lady all dressed up on a balcony above the street waving to the crowds. Underneath was a sign saying "Eat your heart out Helen Mirren" ahahaha
I wish I'd brought my camera!!

Pentecost

On Friday history was written in this city.
Three of the biggest churches of London (HTB, Hillsong, Jesus House) got together for praise and worship and to celebrate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit 2000 years ago. The beginning of church as we know it!
I've been waiting for something like this to happen ever since I got here. Unity is an amazing thing and it is there that God commands His blessing.
It was a phenomenal night and next year will see the whole thing move to O2!

I heart film

As I mentioned before, the I heart film is finally coming to Europe on the 17th June 2010!
So far they've got it in cinemas in the UK, the Netherlands and one cinema in Germany. But if you get your friends together, you all click on this link and demand it in your city, we might get it screened across all of Europe.
Go on and demand demand demand everyone. I really believe that this is not just an amazing and life changing documentary but a true wake up call to everyone around the planet.
The more people see it, the more of an impact it will have!

lazy weekends

Made a trip out to SW London this weekend. Was lovely to hang out with all the usual suspects.
Tots in the morning at the park, catching up with my favourite London family, girls night while all the boys played poker and with a bit of work squeezed in along the way lots of lounging around and to finish off pizza night at a friends place - where all the kids run wild :)
Just about to jump in the car to go to church and meet up with a few Tibbles.
Am grateful and feel spoilt to know the best people around!!

urban gardening... sort of

Lately I've been really into planting and growing your own veggies. I don't exactly know when it started. Maybe when I spent time in Oz with my beloved Stiles family(who were planting an orchard and had an avocado tree in their backyard!) or perhaps when I watched the whole Jamie at home series or when I started reading all the books on sustainable living.
Tried to plant a few things last year but than I went away for five weeks and my old housemates let everything die and that was the end of that endeavour.
This year I set out to plant salad, tomatoes and peas. As the frost hit England again the last two weeks this has been our living room window sill aka the green house.
A bit ridiculous I know :) As my mum pointed out I made a bit of a mistake considering that I'm moving back to Austria in July when the first fruits will start to ripen. Timing is everything and maybe they'll turn into a few leaving presents!! I've got a few friends with a garden, maybe I can bless them with some homegrown tomatoes or peas.
Look at those tomato plants... it's been a month since I put the seeds into the soil.
For some reason this always reminds me of the eternal principles of sowing & reaping and seed, time and harvest :) God knows His stuff and maybe it took a few little plants for me to fully understand that!

A21 campaign

I think it's been two years since Chris Caine came to London and told us about her starting the A21 campaign.
It is all about abolishing slavery in the 21st century, help raise awareness of human traffiking and set victims free that have been sold into sexual slavery!
Some guys at church have put on a massive The Apprentice goes A21. Hundreds of people were involved over the course of 3 months and have raised almost 50,000 pounds. Incredible stuff when you think about how everyone participating is an everyday person like you and me, but when we combine our efforts to go after the same thing miracles can happen.
The finale was last weekend and one of the last tasks was to design a T-shirt. As my beautiful friend Lee was part of it all, she called and asked if I can model her teams T-shirt.
It was a fun night and Lee's team not only won the T-shirt challenge but the overall A21 Apprentice! So proud of her and the rest of the team.
Find out more about A21 here or go buy the T-shirt or donate here.

art by 2 year old

The other day after work I had a little painting session with Mr. Z
Can't remember the story behind the drawing but there is one!!

City of Abacus

My friend's sister launched her comic book last week.
After queuing up at the wrong venue for 10 min - stupid doorman told me that it was the right party!!! - Zola and I got to the book club in Shoreditch and a fun night followed. Loved the interior and it was nice to see lots of people.
More on COA here.

a decision at last

After months of struggling and fighting with myself, my parents, friends and the world I finally made a decision! I'm moving back to Austria in July.
I am beyond excited and have a million plans of what's to come. Before that lots of fun stuff coming up in London town before I leave the ever grey island :)
The fun thing was that I made the decision before Colour and everything I listened to confirmed that I had made the right decision. Isn't God amazing!!!

Colour 2010 recap

Conference time is always a bit like falling off the face of the earth for a couple of days.
It has been an amazing weekend. The Royal Albert Hall was packed out and, for those two days, transformed into the house of God, where His name was lifted high and proclaimed over this city.
Priscilla Shirer, Dr Robi Sondereger, Holly Wagner, Christine Caine and our lovely senior pastor Bobbie Houston brought something fresh to the table. I'm still chewing through my notes, letting what was spoken get into my system.

The Sisterhood morning was a highlight as always and I cannot believe how much has happened in a year.
Orphans to rescue
Sisters to come alongside
Nations to believe in
This has been written across the Colour story for a couple of years now and every time I read those words there are goosebumps because I realise two things:
Number one it is almost scary how much responsibility we have been given. Why would God have us work out His plan on this planet. Why choose imperfect people who mess up all the time to be your hands and feet?
Number two I feel incredibly humbled and privileged that God would use us to play a part in His plan.
Chris Caine said something so profound the other day and this will stay with me for a while
"You have been placed on this planet in this day and history, equipped with gifts and talents to serve your generation"
Check out the Colour Sisterhood for more information on all initiatives and stories from around the globe.
As Colour moves on from London to Kiev, I think of the ground they are cutting in Eastern Europe. A place where for years and years women have been put down and seemed to be forgotten. Can't wait for the stories of salvation, restoration and transformed lives!
