the boat that rocked

Not talking about the movie here, (although it's so funny I had tears rolling down my cheeks) talking about the release party we had. It all happened in the basement of a boat that's anchored on the canal that runs through Vienna - a night to remember!
Linda Harrison did a phenomenal job opening the night, please check her out, she is such a talented young lady. It was a pleasure having her and Alex over here. It was her first gig outside of the UK and I'm sure there will be many more to come!
Everybody was very excited to see My Glorious. The hardly ever play in their hometown and it was fun to see how many friends, colleagues, musicians, fans and family made their way to the party.
Apart from seeing an amazing show, my favourite part was to catch up with lots of old friends. Some of them I haven't seen for nearly five years. My friend Philip was joking around that it's like going to a class reunion - we should all introduce ourselves again and say where we live and what we do :)
Amazing night with lots of fun people and great music. Thanks guys, I'm proud of you!!!

time with friends

Last week I got to go and stay with Reini and Johanna who've just moved to a tiny village in the south of Austria for the next couple months. It was the best time ever: long conversations with Johanna, lots of sleep, a trip to every furniture store in Klagenfurt, decorating their new lounge, quiet moments, laughing hard, walks in the snow.
I could've stayed for a couple more days, but before I left the next visitors had already arrived - even more fun in the snow with 3 crazy kids. The youngest was chasing after the 8 cats that live there, so he could pet them - too cute.

On my way back, I stopped in Graz to hang out with my friend Chris. More late night talks and as his friend celebrated her birthday, lots of new people to meet.
Thank you friends for being amazing and funny and so welcoming. I do have the privilege to know the best people on this planet, people I look up to and can learn a whole lot from.

This whole time away was meant as a breather, to reflect on the last year and look ahead what this year will bring. Spend lots of time with God and mostly listen to what He has to say. Funny thing is, God always turns up in the most random of places and I had the best time with Him driving back home. He is wonderful and I know that in His hand, 2010 will be the best year yet!

fun at work

It's a mere 16 days till "home is where the heart breaks" will be released throughout Europe.
The boys have been busy rehearsing and we all have tried to do our best with press stuff and organising the release party. Yesterday we checked out the location for said shindig, it's the basement of a ship(!!) and looks kinda run down but who wants nice shiny clubs for rock gigs right!
So today the famous Tommy G, Gregor and I hit the streets to film some footage for clips that will be shown at the release show. All I can say is that I can't wait for next week. Nothing better than having a fun job!

coming up in less than a month

Is anybody else crazy excited?????

beloved snow my hopes were up

When we left our friends place Sunday night, it started to snow pretty heavy.

It was gorgeous so I decided to go for a walk. All the sliding around was amazing, but can somebody explain to me why you trip all the time but only ever fall on your butt when there is someone else around to watch you??? The mysteries of this world...

So after all the lovely snow, I woke up today and it was almost gone... Boo to you rain, you're like an uninvited guest! Come back in spring when it's nice and warm!

more snow and celebrations

Got to hang out with my friend Andrea(middle) today while we celebrated Miriam's(on the left) birthday. She is an amazing girl who has worked with the poorest of poor from the Ukraine to the Philippines. Seriously, she is a mighty woman of God and will bring massive change wherever she goes!
Years ago we were on a team that used to run events for youth in our area. It was one of the most impacting times of my life that has shaped all the years up till now.
I'm glad to run into Andrea every couple of years and catch up on what's been happening. Life with God may sound boring to some people, but when I look at our old team and how God's put us all around the world, all I can testify is the complete opposite. It is an awesome and adventurous journey and I couldn't think of anything better.

today my brother's getting old

We look so much alike, it is ridiculous. He is a very funny person and crazy but I love him to pieces.
Happy Birthday Ulrich

breakfast comeback

I'm a breakfast person. Not because it's the most important meal of the day, but to start the day right, you should hang around a table with others and begin the day together.
There's nothing I'd rather do than have breakfast that turns into brunch/lunch. Love sitting around the table with my friends and family. They're crazy so never a dull moment to be had.
Grapefruit has made a massive comeback on my breakfast plan, as have soft boiled eggs, thanks to my friends in Salzburg.

a reunion of sorts

Got to meet up with some of the girls I went to fashion school with last night. Crazy when you catch up with someone after years and years. Lots of fun, good to see you girls, can't wait for next time x

world changers

Ever since it started early last year, I've been following the Uniform Project. Don't know if I have mentioned it before, but I love what they are doing. At the moment they're in India to visit the school they are raising money for. Please have a look, it's lovely and makes me wanna go to Mumbai.

here come the girls

One of the things I am most thankful for are these two girls

Something would totally be missing in my life if they weren't here. When we do happen to be in the same place, we try to spend as much time as possible together. I love them dearly and am glad I got to fill up my Ruth and Lisl tanks at the start of the year!!  Luckily there'll be another weekend where we might all get to spend time together before I'm off to the UK again. Yippie yay.

Thanks for coming with us Ian, sorry about all the girl talk :)

weekend trip with My Glorious

After having been with them in the States, the UK and Austria, I went on my first Germany trip with the boys.
You take
a car that hopefully will make the trip (it did, praise God),
3 boys and 2 girls ready for an adventure,
lots of crazy people (2 sisters throwing a fist fight in the middle of the night, a lady that moved to the country because she could "hear" the mobile phone rays!!!, too many drunks to count, etc seriously where do these people come from???!!!!),
good music,
bad music,
strange accents in Germany that we hardly understood,
two fireplaces  to keep you warm or not(and one of them destroyed my beloved Nudies),
a night in a freezing den and
tons and tons of snow.
Mix it all together and you have a crazy but fun time.

something to make you smile when you walk in the door

This sign and two friendly faces greeted us last night as we walked into our friends house. What followed was a night of food, wine and lots of talking.
There's something about spending time with people who have known you a large part of your life! It's scary how much they know about you but comforting at the same time. I remember, sitting and talking with one of them years ago and wondering where we would all be in 5 or 10 years time.
We had no idea what was to come to be honest and it's better, brighter and bigger than we could have imagined. God is so funny, how he directs our steps, how he brings people together and how he has got the big picture in the first place.
All of a sudden it was really late and we found out that lollies taste that much better after midnight!!!
Thanks for a lovely lovely evening guys.

friends that can sing

Last night something happened that some people have been anticipating for years...
My good friend Johanna was finally in concert. She shared the stage with her friend Kathi Kallauch and the two of them presented their new songs (and older songs). My Glorious was helping out as band and lots of friends and family came out to celebrate the two girls. They did an amazing job and I couldn't be prouder!!

Good music does come out of Austria!!!!!

a valley full of snow

A couple days ago, the whole gang apart from me went snowboarding and I opted for cross country skiing. This is what I got to see along the way.

Isn't it beautiful?

thank you note

Father God, once again I'm totally blown away by how beautiful the mountains in Austria are.
Thank you for painting an amazing landscape so full of details we can't all take it in at once.
Thank you for being so creative and designing all different shapes and forms.
Thank you for snow and how it looks like a clean new blanket on top of everything around us.
Thank you for a day of playing in the snow and giving us the most gorgeous weather on top of that.
Love you lots, thanks for spending time with us today.

new years eve

I got to celebrate with lots of great friends and my brother at our friends Robi and Martina's place. A  bunch of people, we ate lots, went up a hill to watch the fireworks, hung around the fire in the yard, laughed lots, danced a bit, talked lots and around 4am we went home to rest.

The next day brought lots of hanging around and watching ski jumping. We love the 4 hill tournament, maybe because it's the only sport Austria is good at haha.

Can't wait what this year will bring. I'm so expectant for what God has in store for me and those around me.
Love the scripture for this year.
Jesus says in John 14.1
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me."

a walk through Hellbrunn

The other day my friend Sophie came down to see me here in Salzburg and we went for a walk around Schloss Hellbrunn. It is a beautiful palace on the outskirts of the city and is surrounded by a large garden and a zoo.

Thanks for coming Sophie, it was such a nice relaxed day. Just like a holiday should be :)
